halloween 2015

Halloween seemed to creep up on us this year! The festivities started out with parties at the kids' daycare.

Kressa is always so interested in Decker's class!

Tried to get some photographs at home. It's nearly impossible to keep Kressa still these days.

Decker is much easier to direct.

I am always so thankful to get in a photo with the kids. Thanks, Scott!

It poured almost the entire day on Halloween. It was also the first day our home was listed and we had our first showing. Scott took Decker out for some trick-or-treating while Kressa and I handed out candy. It started pouring again, so they didn't stay out long. Decker actually said he wanted to come home early because his bag was full. Kressa seemed mesmerized by all the candy.

Next year I know we're going to have TWO candy monsters!

halloween 2013

We had such a fun Halloween! The festivities started off with a party at D's school and then trick-or-treating. He loved ringing the doorbell and saying "trick-or-treat." He really surprised me by actually wearing his mask the entire time. He was the perfect little superhero! 20131031-5062

valentine's day 2013

School ice cream party for D.  He ate about 30 candy hearts and got tons more candy in his valentines (I didn't realize V-day would rival Halloween for the amount of candy.)

Vanessa baby-sat for us on Saturday evening (thanks, Vess!) so we could go out to dinner at Ruth's Chris.  Yum.

Rehearsal Dinner

Our wedding week started on Wednesday the 26th, when Scott's family came into town.  It was very exciting because it was the first time they have visited us in Seattle.  They made it into town right on time and without any travel snafus.  We went out to lunch, stopped by the mall so they could grab some souvenirs, and then hung out at our house.

The next day was rehearsal day.  Most of Scott's groomsmen got into town Thursday morning and we were trying to coordinate everything to make sure they went and got their tuxes.  I felt like I was running around like a crazy woman.  I was trying to make sure I had last minute details finished, get my nails done, get down to rehearsal, etc.

After only a little bit of chaos, everyone made it to rehearsal and we actually breezed through it quickly.  I had a final meeting with my day-of coordinator, Lindsay, and went over every last detail.  After rehearsal, I finally felt like I could relax and not worry about anything.  It was an awesome feeling.

The rehearsal dinner was at my brother Jason's house.  We wanted to do something casual, so we decided to have Dante's Inferno Dogs cater the dinner.  They show up with their hot dog stand and all kinds of different hot dogs and toppings.  I didn't realize the cart was so big and when the guy got there, we realized he couldn't fit it in the back yard.  He ended up setting up in the garage, and it worked fine.

Dana, from Dante's Inferno Dogs

Okay, this Dana guy was cracking me up because every time someone came up to order a hot dog, he had this very informative pitch about the hot dogs and the toppings.  I've never heard anyone who knows more about hot dogs than Dana!

Weirdly, it was 90 degress outside (tying a record for the highest temperature for that day in Seattle.)  Jason had a bunch of chairs set up in the backyard, but since it was cooler in the front, everyone was congregating there with their hot dogs.

The party turned out great.  It was very casual and relaxed, which is exactly what we wanted.  Scott and I handed out our attendant gifts.  I got my girls little crystal pendant necklaces with their first initial.  Scott got his guys personalized pocket knives, and we got Reece a personalized set of cufflinks.

I was a bit sad at the end of the night because I realized I did not get to have a piece of Jason's fabulous chocolate cake!  He makes the MOST amazing cake.  Oh well.  Overall, it was a wonderful party and I think everyone had fun.  Thanks for hosting, Jase!

The Best Bachelorette Party Ever

Wow.  The whirlwind is officially over!  Family and friends visiting, wedding, and trip to Puerto Vallarta.  I'm definitely going to make sure to get everything down because I don't want to forget any of it.  I'll start with my bachelorette party!

During the planning, my bridesmaids were keeping my party a secret, so I had no idea what we would be doing.  I was just told to be dressed and ready.  Mel picked me up and we headed to Vess's apartment, where the girls were with food and drinks.

My party began with the girls sitting me down in a chair and Rachae handing me some money.  My first thought was "No way they hired a stripper."  Then Vess started blasting Justin Timberlake and it was SO loud.  I asked her to turn it down.  Then came out Marky, a friend of ours from college, doing a "dance!"  I was so surprised.  He was a good sport about it though and it ended up being really funny.  He even had his sailor costume on.  (Don't worry, there was no nudity involved.)

After Marky's great "performance," some drinks and food, we headed down to Post Alley and went to The Tasting Room, which is a cute little wine tasting place.  We were joined there by my other friends Lindsay, Kristin, and Mary. Everyone else was wearing black and everyone had feathers in their hair.  How cute!

From there, we headed to a cool bar right next door, called Kell's.  There were way too many funny times, but one of the best moments was when we told Rachae to grab the tambourine from the band and start playing it.  The other band member's were all for it, but the tambourine player was not.

Here she is after the mean tambourine man snatched the tambourine back away from her

dont touch

All night long, I had to keep reminding the girls not to touch my veil!  Here we are, right after I warned Kitty.

Another classic picture.  Someone spilled their drink close to Kitty's phone.

After Kell's, we headed into Belltown and stopped at Amber for a quick drink.  We were in the dancing mood by then.

Finally, we ended the night with some dancing at Tia Lou's.  This included myself, Rachae, and Mel dancing in the middle of the club on a big cube.  (No pics of that needed.)  We're lucky we didn't fall off of it.  But we survived!

For days after the party, we were trying to figure out who plucked the blue feather from Rachae's head (you can see it in Vess's mouth.)

Then we found this pic, and realized I was the one who plucked it!  Here I am, showing Vess.

It was a crazy night, but SOOO much fun!  Thank you girls for everything!  I can't wait to start planning one of these for you.  :-)

This pic sums up the night.  What is going on here?!!
