D's vocabulary has been growing lately, in both good and bad ways. He has now discovered "potty" words. A few weeks ago, his teacher pulled me aside after class and and informed me that he had said "holy $hit" a few times that day, which led to some of the other boys saying the same thing. When asked where he heard that word, D replied, "my dad."
It's amazing how great of a listener he can be when he wants. He will be engrossed in watching his iPad and Scott and I will be having a conversation and one of us says "oh my God" and he immediately yells "bad word!" He's also constantly asking us if certain words are bad, such as "darn it," "shut up," or "f." By the way, it's quite shocking to hear your 4-year-old say the F-word.
