Well, after a whirlwind 9 days on the market, we are under contract to sell our home! The first week it was listed, we had 7 showings, but no offers. Let me tell you, it is exhausting trying to keep the house ready to show to potential buyers - especially with 2 kids. Well, after the first week, we had gotten good feedback, but we were worried the price was too high, so we decided to lower it by $9,000. The same day, the buyers toured it and loved it. We had another offer coming in from a previous viewer who was ready to make an offer now that we had lowered the price. I think this scared the eventual buyers into making a really good offer. The accepted offer came in at $11,000 over the newly-reduced price ($1,000 more than original asking price.) We are set to close on December 14, so I'm crossing my fingers that everything goes well!
We are signing the papers for our new home today, which means we will officially have the keys tomorrow! This means we're putting everything in motion to have the finishing touches put on the new home before move-in. This includes getting the inside re-painted; getting more hardwood laid down in some of the rooms; having our custom closets, garage storage, and wooden shutters installed; and possibly roll-out shelving in the kitchen and bathrooms (which I really want!) And then of course, we need to pack and move, all prior to December 14th.
I'm having to devote a lot of time to these home projects, so things have been super hectic with trying to keep up with work. On top of all this, I'm also going to be moving my office in December, and we have Thanksgiving and Decker's birthday party on December 12th. I'm trying to keep my sanity!
