A couple of weeks ago, Decker mentioned something to me about a tooth behind his other teeth. At the time, I was preoccupied and didn't really understand what he meant. Fast forward to a week ago when he opened his mouth and I saw that his new bottom tooth had already come in behind his baby teeth! Of course, I immediately hopped on Google and read that this is fairly common and the best thing to do is have the child try to wiggle the baby tooth and see if it will come out.
The tooth was pretty loose, so I told Decker to keep wiggling it and if it didn't come out, we'd have to take him to the dentist to get it pulled. He really didn't want to go to the dentist, but as the week went on, it still hadn't fallen out, so I was planning on calling the dentist on Tuesday. Last night, I took a look and realized it had basically come out, but was just sitting in the space still. I think we were both relieved it came out on its own! Unfortunately, with being sick this week, I was not prepared at all to act as "tooth fairy," so I had to tell Decker that it was too late and that the tooth fairy had already left with all of the money for all the kids. Instead, she would visit him the next night. Luckily, he was fine with that answer.
This is really the first tooth he's truly lost. Even though his top tooth came out, that was a result of it being hit. The new tooth is yet to make an appearance on the top.
